Summary Post

Our idea is that we have some kind of box home, which is well insulated (see image). It will be fairly light, and for the most part if the person is not going to move very much (probably not anyway), it should be pretty cheap as well. (it is mainly for sleeping in, but various sizes can be made as well by just modifying the dimensions).

Pictures in the following post.

Details:
Material of home: Styrofoam (a fairly good insulator) and has some tarp on the outside to waterproof it
Dimensions: About 1.9m by 0.8-0.9m by 1.0-1.1m. Thickness of styrofoam pieces about 5cm.
Outside: Painted black, so it can absorb a lot of thermal energy.
Inside: Coated with a layer of silver foil, which would keep some thermal energy inside the house.
Layer of air between 5cm thick styrofoam walls, of thickness about 3-4cm (like double-glazing), for some insulation. There would be some air vents which are openable or closable, allowing hot air to be directed through the air spaces to warm the place up.
The materials used are all pretty cheap, so it should not be too much of a problem.
